The long-pending demand to widen the road from NH-24 via Bangla Wala Pir to Jarauthi Junior High School in Hapur is set to be fulfilled, with work expected to begin soon. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved Rs 5 crore for the project and released the funds to the Public Works Department (PWD).
Sadar MLA Vijaypal Aadhti had recently met the Chief Minister in Lucknow to request the widening, citing growing public inconvenience due to the narrow stretch.
Speaking on Monday, Aadhti said residents had been pressing for the project for a long time, and the CM promptly responded after being briefed on the issue.
He added that development works are progressing steadily under the BJP government and expressed gratitude to CM Yogi for sanctioning the funds.
