A man from Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi, Jitendra Kumar, who had been missing for the last seven years, has been traced and arrested after his wife, Sheelu, spotted him in a random Instagram reel with another woman. Jitendra was declared missing in 2018 and had married Sheelu in 2017. He disappeared soon after the birth of their son. A police complaint was filed in April 2018, and searches were conducted, but he could not be traced.

At the time, his father had accused the in-laws of killing him, while his wife stayed at her maternal home, hoping for his return. However, a viral reel has revealed that he is alive, has remarried, and now faces accusations of betrayal from his first wife.

Dowry Harassment And Remarried 

Jitendra Kumar, also known as Bablu, had been missing since 2018. He married Sheelu in 2017, but within a year, the relationship broke down. Sheelu alleged dowry harassment over a gold chain and a ring and claimed she was forced out of her marital home when the demands were not met. Her family later filed a dowry harassment complaint.

During the probe into the case, Jitendra vanished. His father lodged a missing person’s report on April 20, 2018, leading to an intensive search that yielded no results. Suspicion soon shifted to Sheelu’s family, who were accused of killing Jitendra and concealing his body.

For years, Sheelu waited in uncertainty. Then, seven years later, she spotted her husband in an Instagram reel with another woman. She immediately alerted Kotwali Sandila police.

Investigations revealed Jitendra had faked his disappearance, moved to Ludhiana, remarried, and begun a new life. Ironically, his online appearance exposed the truth.

Sandila Circle Officer Santosh Singh confirmed his arrest. Based on Sheelu’s complaint and digital evidence, a case has been registered against him under charges of bigamy, fraud, and dowry harassment. He is currently in police custody, and further proceedings are underway.
