IPL 2024: The much-anticipated match, Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians, turned into a bit of a ‘nightmare’ for Mumbai Indians’ new captain and former Gujarat Titans captain- Hardik Pandya. As soon as the match began, the crowd at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium was clearly not happy about Pandya’s decision, as fans welcomed him with a loud ‘boo’. The rest of the match only further proved the ‘disapproval’ speculations correct as the crowd was evidently NOT nice to MI’s captions. The picture was no different on social media, as netizens made several derogatory hashtags hit the trends, while reacting to Pandya’s videos with former captain Rohit Sharma.
For those unaware, Hardik Pandya is getting major backlash and harsh criticism from fans after he changed his franchise from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians, and replaced Rohit Sharma as the team’s captain. Before, Pandya was leading Gujarat Titans and led the team to victory in 2022. Titans are now under Shubman Gill, who yesterday played his first IPL match as a captain.
As the game began, several videos of crowds reacting to Pandya came forward. From people booing at him to the crowd cheering Rohit Sharma’s name in front of Pandya, several clips evidently showed fans’ take on the matter. Taking to the internet, people shared their views, along with videos of the two, Pandya and Sharma.

The Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians match was played yesterday, March 24, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat Titans, by 6 runs, bagged the win for this one. Meanwhile, the next match is scheduled for today at 7: 30 PM, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Punjab Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
