IPL 2024 Viral Moments: Yesterday’s IPL match, Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians, turned out to be an unusual one after the crowd, including the ones donning MI’s jersey, went ‘wild’ on MI’s new captain and GT’s former captain, Hardik Pandya. Video of fans booing him and internet posts reacting to his interactions with former MI captain Rohit Sharma further went viral over fans’ harsh ‘criticism’ against Pandya. Evidently, yesterday’s match was not just GT vs MI, but MI fans, it seems, were also divided in themselves over ‘captain’ issues.
Adding to the list, another video displaying the same came forward, where allegedly, fans of Sharma and Pandya indulged in an ugly brawl. The video was shared on social media and went viral in no time. The match was scheduled at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, where MI lost to Shubman Gill’s GT by 6 runs.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘tweetbyfurkan’. The post was captioned, “Fights between fans of Chapri Hardik Pandya and World Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma.”

The video has been circulating ever since it was shared on social media. Most people supported the fight despite it being violent and sided with Rohit Sharma’s fans, while the rest cracked jokes on the same and the change in MI’s captaincy. The post was shared today and pulled thousands of views.
Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Hardik And Rohit Fans,” a user said. “Bura na mano holi hai- taken seriously,” commented a second person. “MI Fans to Hardik Pandya after losing the match against Gujarat Titans,” joked a third person. “Poor things to do in the stadium. Don't bring the idols they deserve. Better fans,” added a fourth user. “Hardik pandaya ke liye ladd rahe honge (Hardik pandaya fans must be fighting),” wrote a fifth user.
“Hardik Pandya best captain he bola hoga (They must have said Hardik Pandya is the best captain),” added a sixth user. “A supporter of chapari Hardik pandya was caught by the MI fans,” commented a seventh person. “Well done Rohit fans treated the chapati fan well,” said another. “Yesterday everyone was Happy with GT win, whether GT fan or MI fan...I guess he is a Hardik Pandya Fan,” added another.
