Rishikesh Viral Video: Instances seemingly advocating for people believing in the need for ‘behavioural certificates’ for something as common as travelling, are surely increasing at an alarming rate. Confused? Let’s explain with a recent example. An incident came forward, where some tourists from a different state were seen ganging up on a single person. The victim in question was a petrol pump worker, who was then brutally beaten up by 3 to 4 tourists over some heated argument. The incident took place in Uttarakhand’s Rishikesh on Sunday, April 28.

A video of the same was recorded by a local, who was heard speaking about giving the footage to the police. The video was shared on social media as well, which went viral. The incident, as per the post, took place at night near a hotel.

The video was shared on social media platform Reddit, by the Redditor ‘zindaxhoon’. The video was titled, “Some Haryanvi Guys beating a Petrol Pump Staff over some argument.” The post further read, “Tourist from Hariyana fight with petrol pump staff in #Rishikesh Petrol pump is near Albee ganga hotel #Uttarakhand incident happened yesterday 28/04/2024 10:30 pm video Rishikesh citizen.”

The post was shared today and pulled hundreds of upvotes. Most people chastised the behaviour the tourists displayed, while some dubbed them ‘troublesome’ for beating up a single worker. Many also raised concerns over the increasing number of similar instances.

Taking to the internet, people shared their views. “Cowards fight in groups and target people smaller than them,” a user said. “This is why education is important,” added a second person. “All he had to do was shower them with petro,” added a third user. “What's the deal with these people? Why are they always so violent? They are tourists here, they should act like one,” added another.

“Why are Indians so violent? How come they always find something to fight about?” wrote a fifth person. “Rishikesh ke liye bhi ab character certificate lagna chjioye (There should be a character certificate for Rishikesh as well),” wrote another person.
“These chapris have reached Uttarakhand as well? Tourist places in Uttarakhand and Himachal suffer most because of these people only,” added another.
