Viral Video: It seems like terms like ‘humanity’ and ‘kindness’ have become something of the past, as cases of cruelty of some or the other kind have only increased in recent years. Another horrifying incident further lengthened the list recently, where a man was seen brutally ‘slamming’ a street dog, while the rest watched the atrocities unfold. The animal cruelty, as per a video of the same going viral, took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat. Many other street dogs were also seen in the clip, who helplessly watched their fellow stray getting assaulted.

The date of the incident could not be confirmed. As the incident made it to the headlines, it also came to the notice of the police. Reportedly, a case against the man has been registered at the Baraut Police Station, where an investigation is underway.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘priyarajputlive’. The post was captioned, “This is the treatment of a mute person. This man is a disgrace to humanity.”

“A case has been registered at Baraut police station in connection with the beating of a dog by the accused in the town of Baraut in the Baraut police station area. Further legal action is being taken,” read the response by the Baghpat Police.

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral and left people commenting. Most people chastised the man for his cruelty against the poor dog and demanded strict actions against him, while a few pointed out the dog attacks that have increased in the last few years, and advocated for the accused. The post was shared two days ago and pulled 141K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “An FIR has been filed on this serious incident, whereas the accused is absconding. But in this incident, not just one person but all the people including the onlookers and the people who made the video should be considered criminals,” a user said.

“Shameful! First, he was dragged by the leg and then thrown down… Video of cruelty against a dog. This man should be punished, he should be behind bars,” added a second person.

If this man is released in a few days, his next target might be kids. Hand him over to the public as only people are capable of getting him treated. And put pressure on the Government that those who commit inhumane atrocities on animals should be hanged or harshly punished,” added another.
