Meerut Viral Video: The rest of the world might have ‘normal’ thieves, but in India, the case is a bit different. Here, we have ‘Sanskari Chors’. Yes, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut earned the ‘Sanskari Chor’ title after CCTV footage of him worshipping the Shiva idol before stealing from a temple went viral on social media. The incident, as per the reports, took place on March 12, where the thief stole a snake idol from the said Shiva Temple. In the video, the man was seen bowing down in front of the idol, before committing the crime. As soon as the clip of the incident went viral, people began to give him all kinds of names, including the titles ‘sanatani chor’ and ‘bhakt chor’.

The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘HateDetectors’. The post was captioned, “In an incident that seems to be an example of antithetical acts that exposes a very bizarre and scary aspect worshipping god, a video capturing a man stealing an idol from a temple in #UttarPradesh's #Meerut is doing rounds on social media.”

He steals but does not forget his values,” added a third person.
