A field can be as fun as the players make it, and the same goes for the fact that a venue's situation can turn as ugly as the players decide to make it. This is something that people often witness in games like football, cricket, baseball, and more. Among all these, the game which has the most exciting yet controversial moments is football. A similar incident falling in the latter category took place in Tripura, where the football field turned into a WWE venue after a fight broke out between the players and the referee. The video of the same surfaced online and then went viral, where most people sided with the referee.
The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘VOIF’. The post was captioned, “Tripura State League. A fight broke out between the Referee and the players on the field.”
In the video, the players were seen busy playing while the referee was seen giving some instructions. Soon, a player came towards the referee and hit him hard. After a while, more players started to hit the referee. The referee too, retaliated and started beating up the players. The brawl was soon interviewed by the management.
