US-Iran War: The ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran has given the global defence industry a boost in America. Major US arms manufacturers are gaining billions of dollars in profits from the conflict. The stocks of US arm manufacturers are seeing record highs as the war escalates in the Gulf region.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump held a key meeting with officials from leading defence companies at the White House. The US President signed an agreement with firms to quadruple the production of high-end weapons.
The US military has used more than 20 types of weapon systems in the 'Operation Epic Fury'. In the first 100 hours alone, the American military spent USD 3.7 billion on weapons to destroy Iran's defence capacities.
US Firms That Are Profiting From War:
1. Lockheed Martin: The media report suggested that the US defence company produced the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter, F-22 Raptor jets, the THAAD system, HIMARS, and ATACMS missiles, prompting the company's shares to rise 3 per cent last week. Lockheed Martin projects revenue of USD 68.4 billion in 2024, securing billions of dollars in contracts from the Trump administration.
2. RTX (formerly Raytheon): The Tomahawk cruise missile and Patriot missile system of RTX led the company to gain a 4.5 per cent hike in the share. The company's 2024 defence revenue was USD 43.6 billion.

Massive Increase In 2027 US Defence Spending
Earlier in January, Trump proposed setting US military spending at USD 1.5 trillion in 2027, citing “troubled and dangerous times.” The massive surge in the defence spending came days after he ordered a US military operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and spirit him out of the country to face drug trafficking charges in the United States. The 2026 military budget is set at $901 billion.
Trump in recent days has also called for taking over the Danish territory of Greenland for national security reasons and has suggested he’s open to carrying out military operations in Colombia. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ominously warned that longtime adversary Cuba “is in trouble.”
