In a shocking incident, a man of Indian origin from Telangana was shot dead after he went to deliver a pizza in Philadelphia in the United States. The victim has been identified as Anshul Kuncha (28), who was employed at a multinational company and also worked as a pizza delivery executive to manage his expenses. The family alleged that the delivery was "fake" and was placed to trap him and execute his killing.

The incident occurred on Saturday, when Kuncha received a "fake" delivery order to a deserted location. After he reached the location, an unidentified man shot him multiple times on his head and fled the scene.

The victim's family claimed that nothing was stolen from Kuncha. They said that two masked gunmen were spotted in the area at the time of the attack.

The relatives also said that in the past he was robbed. The thieves stole his phone, cash, and chain. However, Kuncha apparently never received a death threat.

The deceased's sister, Tanvi, alleged that the pizza delivery was a "trap" meant to kill him. "He was told to deliver pizza in an abandoned area, but we later learned it was a decoy. There was no one there; it was a trap, meant solely to kill him. We do not know what they gained or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him," NDTV quoted Tanvi as saying.

She further appealed to authorities for the quick return of her brother's body to India. "My brother was a loving and joyful person. He was working in the US for nearly four years. We discovered that he was trapped through a fake pizza delivery request and was shot dead. Our only request is that his body be brought back to India as early as possible," she said.

According to the report, officials said that the body will be handed over on Monday. However, Tanvi urged the authorities to quicken the process, as the family needs to perform the final rites as soon as possible. She sought justice for her brother's demise, mentioning that they do not suspect anyone behind the incident.

Tanvi's Request To Indian Parents

This is a message to all parents considering sending their children to the US: My brother was a very loving and joyful person. He had no real reason to go to the US, but we sent him anyway. He didn't want to go either, but he did, and look where it got him. Do not send your children to the US," she said.

What Did The Indian Consulate Say?

Sharing a post on X, Consulate General of India in New York acknowledged the incident and stated that it is in touch with local authorities and the bereaved family while extending all possible assistance.

"We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr. Anshul Kuncha, an Indian national in Philadelphia, PA. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. The Consulate is in touch with Anushul's family and is extending all possible assistance," the post added.
