Indian government on Sunday strongly criticised the vandalism of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple in the California region of the US by labeling it as "despicable acts". The reaction from the central government came after the temple was vandalised with discriminatory messages on Saturday, making it another incident in which the miscreants wrote anti-India and anti-Hindu slogans on the temples in the US.

The vandalised temple in Chino Hills is one of the largest Hindu temples in southern California, and the temple authorities have criticised the act while expressing their concerns.

In a post on X, BAPS's official US page stated that another temple has been vandalised, adding that the Hindu community stands for peace and compassion. "In the face of another Mandir desecration, this time in Chino Hills, CA, the Hindu community stands steadfast against hate. Together with the community in Chino Hills and Southern California, we will never let hate take root. Our common humanity and faith will ensure that peace and compassion prevail," BAPS stated.

Hindu Bodies React Over The Incident

While the Chino Hills Police Department is yet to issue a statement in connection with the incident, the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) informed that another Hindu temple has been attacked, adding that media and academics have been neglecting the anti-Hindu incidents in the US.

"Another Hindu Temple vandalized - this time the iconic BAPS temple in Chino Hills, CA. It's just another day in a world where media and academics will insist there is no anti-Hindu hate and that #Hinduphobia is just a construct of our imagination. Not surprising this happens as the day for a so called 'Khalistan referendum' in LA draws close," CoHNA stated.

However, this is not the first incident of a Hindu temple vandalised by miscreants in the US. These incidents have significantly increased in the past few years. In a similar incident last year, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was vandalised in the Sacramento region of California on September 25, following a similar incident at the BAPS temple in New York a few days back.

The miscreants write similar things on the walls of temples in these incidents, including 'Hindus go back' and anti-India slogans.
