Upcoming Electric SUVs: Demand for electric vehicles is growing rapidly, and upcoming months will witness the launch of some of the most popular EV offerings. SUVs, on the other hand, are also registering significant demand in India, especially the midsize-SUV segment is gathering popularity among new car buyers. Here we are listing the upcoming 4 electric SUVs in the country, with a claimed range of more than 500 kilometers.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is the largest car manufacturer in India, but the brand has not yet entered the electric car segment in the country. The upcoming e-Vitara will mark the company’s entry into the EV segment, which was expected to launch last month. Due to some delay, the e-Vitara is now expected to make its official debut during the festive season. The e-Vitara will be based on the HEARTECT-e platform, and it is expected to come equipped with two battery packs on offer. The company claims that it will get a range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.

Tata Harrier EV
Tata Harreir EV is slated to launch on June 3, 2025. The upcoming electric SUV by Tata will feature a cabin similar to the recently launched Curvv EV. It is expected to feature a dual-tone dashboard, touch-based HVAC controls, a floating touchscreen for the infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a rotary dial for terrain modes. Currently, the Curvv EV has the biggest battery in the company’s lineup, and it features a 55 kWh battery pack, which is claimed to have a range of up to 400 Km. The brand is claiming that the Harrier EV is expected to deliver a real-world range of more than 500 kilometers, and thus, we expect that the Harrier EV will feature a bigger 75 kWh battery.

Tata Sierra EV
Tata Sierra was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in January 2025, and it is expected to make its official debut by the festive season. The Sierra brand nameplate was introduced in India by Tata in 1995, and it was quite popular till 2005. The silhouette of the upcoming Sierra looks similar to the older generation model, but it will come with contemporary design elements such as a Sleek DRL, LED Lighting, and a Boxy yet muscular SUV stance. The Sierra will be available in ICE variant, along with an electric iteration.

Mahindra XEV 7E
The Mahindra XUV700 has remained one of the most popular SUVs in India since its launch. Based on the leaked images earlier this year, we can assume that the upcoming XEV 7E will be based on the XUV700. The XEV 7E is expected to make its official debut at the end of this year. It will feature a completely different front fascia, which looks similar to the recently launched BE 6 and XEV 9E; however, some recent shots also suggest that the upcoming electric SUV by Mahindra might feature an overall silhouette similar to the XUV700.
