Delhi-Mumbai Expressway:  Delhi CMG Rekha Gupta and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inspected the final Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link today at the Sarai Kale Khan section. The Sarai Kale Khan section of the expressway is a vital stretch, and it will connect the expressway to DND and Jaitpur. Once operational, the section will improve connectivity between Delhi, Faridabad, and Noida by significantly reducing congestion on existing roads.

Delhi-Faridabad In 20 Minutes

Currently, it takes around 1 hour to reach Faridabad from Delhi. If someone is going to Faridabad from Delhi, they will have to first reach the Ashram, and then the person will have to take Mathura Road to reach Faridabad via Jasola Apollo, Sarita Vihar, and Badarpur flyover. However, the new Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link will reduce the travelling time to 20 minutes from Delhi.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to be inaugurated soon. The union minister has shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it around the second week of June 2026, and then it will be opened for the public as well. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is one of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, and it spans a total area of 1,300 kilometres. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to cut down travelling time between the two major cities by half.

Barrier-Free Toll Plaza

Notably, the first Barrier-free toll plaza was recently inaugurated in the country by Nitin Gadkari. The Choryasi Toll Plaza near Surat on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is the first barrier-free toll plaza in the country. The barrier-free toll plaza uses MLFF (Multilane free flow) technology, which integrates AI and high-speed cameras to automatically deduct toll from the passing vehicles.
