E30 Fuel: The Indian government has notified E22-E30 fuel standards for boosting the ethanol blending in the country. Notably, the notification of new fuel standards comes amid the global fuel crisis due to the ongoing US-Iran war. Global crude oil prices have skyrocketed since the war began on February 28, and the Indian government is pushing to reduce dependence on petrol and diesel.
E30 Fuel: BIS Notification
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has notified regarding the new fuel standards, and it has come into effect from May 15, 2026. The notification released by BIS will create a fuel-quality framework for the upcoming ecosystem of the next stage of the ethanol blending program in the country. The notification includes E22, E25, E27, and E30 fuel standards, and it has also introduced updated standards for LPG blended with Dimethyl Ether (DME).
