No Fuel For Old Vehicles: Overage vehicles in Delhi will not be sold fuel from today onwards. The Delhi Government, in association with the State Transport Department, has outlined a detailed plan to impose the rule in the national capital. Personnel from the transport department, along with Delhi Police, Traffic Police, and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), will work together in identifying the End-Of-Life vehicles.
350 ANRPs Installed
More than 350 Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPRs) have been installed on petrol stations across the national capital to identify overage vehicles. Several teams of police personnel and the transport department staff have been stationed at different fuel stations. The ANPRs will identify overage vehicles, and the hooter will alert the team. The team will then seize the vehicle from the location itself.

Petrol Vehicles older than 15 years and Diesel Vehicles older than 10 years are considered End-Of-Life vehicles. Often Overage Vehicles or Old Vehicles terms are also used for such vehicles. While different teams stationed at petrol pumps and ANPRs are identifying the overage vehicles in Delhi, a team is monitoring the central data as well.
