Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor SUV: Toyota Motor is gearing up to introduce its inaugural vehicle in the Indian market this year, the Urban Cruiser Taisor. The Urban Cruiser Taisor marks Toyota's entry into the compact SUV segment and is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx platform. The Japanese automaker is set to reveal the prices of the Taisor SUV on April 3. Toyota has already provided a sneak peek into the upcoming model through a teaser video, showcasing various modifications.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor - Expected Features
In terms of features, the Urban Cruiser Taisor will boast a similar 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, driver display, 360-degree camera, Head-Up Display (HUD), and other features are expected to remain unchanged in the Taisor as well. Significant alterations are not anticipated for the interior of the Taisor, except for updated upholstery.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor - Engine Specs
Talking about its engine specs, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is likely to be equipped with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engines sourced from the Fronx. Additionally, Toyota might introduce a hybrid variant incorporating one of these engines. Furthermore, there are expectations for a CNG version to be introduced at a later stage.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor - Expected price
Toyota typically prices its rebadged Maruti models slightly higher than their counterparts. For example, the Glanza is priced approximately Rs 20,000 more than the Baleno. It is anticipated that the Taisor will be offered at a premium of about Rs 35,000 over the Fronx. With the Maruti SUV starting at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom), the expected starting price of the Taisor SUV could be around Rs 7.85 lakh, with the top-end variant reaching up to Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor - Rivals
The Urban Cruiser Taisor is poised to join the compact SUV segment, where it will compete with rivals such as the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon.
