Volkswagen Golf GTI India:  The much-awaited Volkswagen Golf GTI is slated to make its debut in India on May 26, 2025. This will be the facelift of the eighth generation of the performance-oriented hatchback by the German carmaker, and it is called the Golf GTI Mk8.5. Volkswagen Golf GTI: Engine

As informed above, the Golf GTI is a performance-oriented hatchback, and it draws its power using a 2-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The mill placed beneath the bonnet of the car is a TSI engine, which is mated to a 7-speed DCA (Dual-Clutch Automatic) transmission, and it powers the front wheels of the hatchback. The TSI 2-litre turbo petrol engine used here can generate 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The brand claims that the Golf GTI can do 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. It should also be noted that the car has been electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Price And Launch

Volkswagen Golf GTI will be priced on the expensive side, and it can become the most expensive car by the brand in India post its official launch. It is expected that the Volkswagen Golf GTI will get a price tag of Rs 58.50 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) to Rs 62.50 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Currently, the Tiguan R-Line has the tag of the most expensive car of the brand, and it costs Rs 56.7 Lakhs (On-road Delhi).

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Exterior And Features

Volkswagen Golf GTI features a big VW round logo on the front, with the GTI badging on the sleek grille. It also gets a matrix LED headlight setup, a honeycomb-patterned air dam. It also gets new 18-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, and twin chrome exhaust tips. Inside the cabin, it gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium-looking interiors, a 12.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. It also gets comprehensive features like the panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a 7-speaker sound system.
