The Bharatiya Janata Party is leaving no stone unturned to expand its political sphere in Bihar in the upcoming assembly elections. Senior leaders of the party have been making regular visits to the state. The party has now decided to form an election committee comprising 19 members to oversee the entire election process in the state.

The list includes several BJP veterans and starts with the name of the BJP state president, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, followed by Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary. Also named in the committee are seasoned politicians Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai and Ravishankar Prasad.

Dharmshila Gupta, Rajya Sabha MP, has been made the ex-officio chairman of the committee. Vinod Tawde, Deepak Prakash and Nagendra Nath Triparthi have been included as special invitees.

When Will Bihar Election Take Place?

The high-stakes elections in Bihar are scheduled to be held in the October-November period this year. With the ECI's fresh directive, it is expected that the official dates for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 will be announced after October 6. 

The Election Commission had earlier hinted at announcing the Bihar election dates after Dussehra, which will be celebrated on October 2. The ECI has asked the state administration to ensure a fair and impartial election process and issued guidelines for the posting and transfers of officials.

Further, the Bihar Chief Electoral Officer, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, has been directed to complete all the official paperwork including the transfer of power by October 6.
