Mumbai Tops Asia's Billionaire List:  For the first time, Mumbai is now Asia's billionaire capital, surpassing Beijing with 92 billionaires against Beijing's 91 billionaires. However, China has 814 billionaires compared to India with 271 billionaires in Hurun Research's 2024 Global Rich List.

According to Hurun's latest list, globally, Mumbai is now in third position in terms of billionaires after New York, which has 119 billionaires, and London, which has 97 billionaires.

This year Mumbai added 26 billionaires compared to Beijing, which has lost 18 billionaires on a net basis.

Total Wealth of Billionaire living in Mumbai

The total wealth of billionaires living in Mumbai has reached at $445 billion, up by 47% compared to last year. On the other hand, Beijing's total billionaire wealth plunged by 28% to reach $265 billion.

Mangal Prabhat Lodha, a real estate baron, is Mumbai's biggest wealth gainer in percentage terms. His wealth increased by 116%.

Indian billionaires slipped slightly in the global rankings, with Mukesh Ambani maintaining his strong position at number 10. Gautam Adani at 15th rank – HCL's Shiv Nadar and his family climbed 16 places to 34th, up 8 places. Cyrus S Poonawala of the Serum Institute. slipped slightly, falling 9 places to 55th with a total of $82 billion.
