SBI UPI service down: The State Bank of India (SBI) has declared that its Internet Banking, YONO Lite, Web & Mobile App, YONO, YONO Business, and UPI services will be unavailable on April 1, 2024, because of the yearly closure of operations.
"Due to annual closing activity, the services of internet banking, YONO lite, cibn, YONO business web and mobile app, YONO, and UPI Services will not be available between 12:20 Hrs IST and 15:20 Hrs IST on 1st April 2024." SBI Posted on X, (formerly known as Twitter)
Internet Banking, YONO Lite, YONO Business Web and Mobile App, and UPI services will be unavailable between 12.20 IST and 15.20 IST on April 1, However, ATM and UPI lite services are available during these hours, SBI said on Monday.

India's largest private sector bank 'HDFC Bank' on Sunday also advised its customers against doing National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) transactions on April 1. Service may be delayed due to fiscal year-end activities.
Annual Fee on Debit Card
Earlier, the State Bank of India (SBI) declared an increase in annual handling fees for select groups of debit cards. According to a statement released on the SBI website, the new rates will come into effect on April 1. The latest charges apply to Classic/Silver/Global, UVA/Gold, Platinum, and Pride debit cards, the website said.
The public sector bank has listed the latest charges on its website for the convenience of its customers. The website shows that the annual maintenance charges have been hiked by Rs 75 in various categories.
Banks are closed on April 1
On April 1, banks will be closed for the annual shutdown in most states of India. However, there are a few exceptions like Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, and West Bengal. The new financial year 2024-25 will start on April 1 and all banks are currently busy finishing their fiscal year-end formalities.
