Babar Azam Batting Record In T20I Cricket: Babar Azam's crucial contribution with the bat helped Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 69 runs in the fourth match of the T20I Tri-Series 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This was Pakistan's third successive win in the ongoing series and they have almost sealed the qualification for the finals.
Babar was the top run-getter for the hosts, having played a magnificent knock of 74 runs in 52 balls on the back of seven fours and two sixes. The former skipper came out to bat at no.3 for the Men in Green and impressed the fans with a commendable effort, helping them to register a massive total of 195/5 in their 20 overs after opting to bat first.
Pakistan bowled Zimbabwe out for 126 in 19 overs, with Usman Tariq producing a match-winning effort of four wickets for 18 runs in his four overs.
Babar has now equalled Virat Kohli’s record of most half-centuries in T20Is. Kohli played 125 T20I matches for India from 2010 to 2024 and scored 38 half-centuries. On the other hand, Babar also has 38 half-centuries to his credit now in 127 innings of 134 T20I matches. The right-handed batter has also slammed three centuries in the 20-over format of the game.

Speaking of Babar, he made his way to the T20I setup after the Men's Asia Cup, where he featured in a three-match series against South Africa, which Pakistan won 2-1. Heading into the match against Zimbabwe, Babar was under immense pressure as he had returned with the scores of 0,11*, 68, 0 and 16 in his last five T20Is.
Recently, Babar also broke his two-year-long century drought by hammering a ton in an ODI against Sri Lanka. This was the first time in 83 innings that Babar went past the three-figure mark in international cricket.
