Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been facing the brunt of his side's worst-ever outing in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India. For the first time in their criketing history, Pakistan have lost four consecuitive matches in the 50-over extravaganza.

Amid the on-field battle for the respectable finish in the tournament with three matches left to play, Babar has been constantly facing huge criticism from former cricketers and countrymen on social media.

There are reports that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf is not picking up Babar's call after their humiliating performance in the showpiece tournament.

In a fresh attack on Babar, Pakistan news channel ARY News leaked the star batter's alleged WhatsApp chat on live broadcast. The channel claimed that Babar denied that he did not call PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf.

Responding to the chat, former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis urged people to give some privacy to Babar and called the act 'pathetic'.

“Ya kya Karna ki koshish kar raha ho aap loog??? This is pathetic !!! Khush ho gaya aap loog. Please leave @babarazam25 alone 🙏🏽. He’s an asset of Pakistan Cricket,” Younis replied to a post on X.

Pakistan have won two matches in four fixtures and sit at the sixth spot with very slim chances of making to the semi-finals.

Pakistan's winning momentum was broke by arch-rivals India at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when the hosts crushed Men in Green by seven wickets. After the defeat against India, Pakistan lost to Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa respectively.

There loss against Afghanistan was the most humiliating of all as Pakistan lost to them for the first-time in the ODI history. In the upcoming three matches, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh, New Zealand and England respectively.

Pakistan will take on Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, October 31.
