After winning the toss, Hyderabad opted to bat first, handing the debut cap to 25-year-old Zeeshan Ansari, who was bought by the franchise for Rs 40 lakhs during the mega auction.

Who is Zeeshan Ansari?

A former Under-19 Indian cricket star and batchmate of Rishabh Pant, Ansari, gained popularity during the UP T20 League. Representing the Meerut Mavericks, Ansari produced power packed performance, emerging as the tournament's highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps.

Adding to his performances in the UP T20 League, he has also made a mark in first-class cricket having played five matches for Uttar Pradesh capturing 17 wickets.

Besides, the 25-year-old leg spinner believes that Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, and his fellow Indian spinner Piyush Chawla- he had the privilege to share ground with him in UP T20 League- have been his inspirations.

"I drew inspiration from the likes of Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, and Piyush Chawla, avidly studying their actions. I consider myself privileged to have shared the field with Piyush Chawla in this league," said Ansari, as quoted by Times of India.
