IND vs AUS: Ex-England skipper Kevin Pietersen has heaped praise on star India opener Abhishek Sharma. As per Pietersen, who has now become an expert and commentator, the youngster is the most complete opener in this format. Pietersen revealed that Abhishek is fearless, courageous, and talented.

During the five-match T20I series against Australia, Abhishek performed brilliantly as a batter. He had played as an opener for the Men in Blue and had scored 163 runs. On the back of his brilliant form, he was adjudged the Player of the Series award.

“Not surprised at all by this. Abhishek is the most complete opening batter in T20 cricket. Fearless, courageous, and talented!" Pietersen had written on his official X account.

In the 5th T20I against Australia, which was held at the Gabba, Abhishek scripted history as he became the fastest batter to have scored 1000 runs in this format.

During the Asia Cup 2025 as well, he had performed brilliantly. He had hit three fifties and had scored 314 runs.

He was also adjudged the Player of the Series award as he had broken a lot of batting records. He surpassed Mohammad Rizwan's records of scoring the most runs in a single edition and had also became the first batter to score more than 300 runs in a single edition.

His brilliant performances in the Asia Cup 2025 helped him become the No.1 T20I batter. After his 61-run knock against Sri Lanka, he had scored 931 rating points, which is the most by any batter in this format.
