Cricket fans in Sri Lanka will be able to watch the upcoming Test series against India without buying a ticket. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that entry for the general public will be free at both venues for the two-match series.
The first Test will be played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium from August 15 to 19. The action will then shift to Colombo, where the second Test is scheduled at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground from August 23 to 27. Both matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.

In an official statement, SLC said it wants to give fans a chance to enjoy top-quality Test cricket from the stands without any entry fee.
“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wishes to announce that public admission to the upcoming Test Series between Sri Lanka and India will be free of charge thus providing cricket fans with an excellent opportunity to witness world-class Test cricket,” the board said in an official statement.
How can spectators enter the ground?
For the opening Test in Galle, spectators can enter the stadium through Gate No. 4. For the second Test in Colombo, fans will be allowed to use Gates 3, 4, 5 and 7 to access the venue.
“Sri Lanka Cricket warmly invites cricket enthusiasts, young aspiring cricketers, families, and sports fans from across the country to take advantage of this initiative and experience the excitement of international Test cricket between Sri Lanka and India,” the board added.
The decision is expected to bring bigger crowds to both grounds and create an exciting atmosphere for what promises to be a closely watched Test series between India and Sri Lanka.
