Pakistan vs South Africa Match Result: Pakistan defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the third and final ODI match at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Saturday. On the back of a 2-1 lead, Pakistan bagged the three-match series in an emphatic fashion.
They chased down the 144-run target in just 25.1 overs, capitalising on their remarkable all-round performance to get over the line, with Salman Agha hitting the winning boundary off Bjorn Fortuin. This was Pakistan's first home series win in ODIs against South Africa. This was their seventh ODI win over the Proteas in their last nine matches.
The Men in Green are now on a three-series winning streak against South Africa, having won four of the last five ODI series against them.
South Africa opted to bat first after winning the toss, but were off to a remarkable start as the in-form Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius stitched a promising 72-run opening stand. While Pretorius was dismissed for 39 runs by Salman Agha in the 15th over, De Kock continued his promising form and smashed an impressive fifty. However, the big breakthrough was provided by Mohammad Nawaz for the hosts as he trapped De Kock in front, dismissing him for 53.

The Proteas then witnessed a massive collapse and were bowled out for 143 runs in 37.5 overs. Skipper Matthew Breetzke and Nqabayomzi Peter scored 16 runs each. Abrar Ahmed produced a memorable effort and was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts. He took four wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs, whereas skipper Shaheen Afridi, Salman and Nawaz found a couple of scalps each.
Chasing the target, Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman for 0 in just the second delivery of the innings as Nandre Burger cleaned him up.
Babar Azam and Saim Ayub then made the recovery with a magnificent partnership of 65 runs, taking their side closer to the target. Babar once again couldn't capitalise on the start and was dismissed for 27 after a horrible run out. Ayub smashed his fifty and ended up scoring 77 runs in 70 balls on the back of 11 fours and a six.
Mohammad Rizwan (32) and Salman Agha (5) remained at the crease towards the end as the hosts registered a historic victory at home.
