GT vs RR IPL 2026: For Ravindra Jadeja, the rockstar label marks a transformative stage in his career.

Shane Warne first called Jadeja a rockstar in IPL’s 2008 debut season, supporting the all-rounder early in his career amid a squad of veterans.

Now, Jadeja asserts that the Rajasthan franchise has found a new candidate for the nickname: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

On Star Sports, Jadeja highlighted Sooryavanshi’s exceptional ability and composure compared to other young players.

“The team has a lot of talented youngsters, but Vaibhav has really stood out for me. His batting has contributed to crucial moments this season, and his maturity and mindset have elevated the team's performance,” Ravindra Jadeja was quoted as saying on Star Sports.

"He understands how to advance his game, trust his shots, and challenge elite bowlers," Jadeja added.

"What impresses me most is his calmness. Vaibhav never appears unsettled or pressured. His composure is exceptional for his age. If anyone in the team deserves the ‘rockstar’ label, it’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi," Jadeja stated.

Jadeja’s compliment is especially meaningful given his own association with the nickname.

Jadeja debuted for the Rajasthan team under Warne’s mentorship as a teenager. Warne trusted him in a squad of established stars. Their friendship endured even after Jadeja switched franchises, with Warne offering continued encouragement.

Jadeja has always talked about how important his support has been in helping him become a better cricketer.

For Vaibhav, Jadeja’s praise was more than a simple compliment.

It signifies Jadeja passing on the ‘rockstar’ legacy, once given to him by Warne, to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a player Jadeja considers talented, confident, and able.
