MI vs RCB IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians' stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav is expected to participate in their must-win IPL 2026 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. MI will face reigning champions RCB in their next IPL 2026 fixture on Sunday in Raipur. Surya captained the team in their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants this week, but his availability for the match against Bengaluru remained uncertain due to personal reasons.
Suryakumar Yadav, who led India to a T20 World Cup title, recently welcomed a baby girl on Thursday. Reports indicated he might miss the match to spend time with his family.
According to the latest Cricbuzz report, he notified the team of his availability. He will arrive in Raipur soon.

It remains to be seen whether he captains the Mumbai franchise on Sunday. The latest update suggests a decision will depend on Hardik Pandya's recovery from back spasms.
Hardik, MI's captain this year, missed their match against Rishabh Pant's side due to back spasms. If he is unavailable for the must-win clash against RCB, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team again.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side defeated LSG by six wickets in their previous match, remaining in contention for playoff qualification. To advance, MI must win all four of its remaining matches and hope no more than three teams finish the group stage with 14 or more points. If this scenario occurs, MI will reach the playoffs for a second consecutive time only if their NRR is superior.
