CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the post-result review process for Class 12 students after declaring the CBSE 12th results on May 13. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can now apply for verification and re-evaluation through the CBSE’s official portal, cbse.gov.in. Once the rechecking process concludes, the revised marksheets will be accessible from May 26 to 29.
Admitting that there might be errors while checking 1.25 crore answer scripts, the CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj, said, “We evaluate approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts; there is a possibility that an error may occur somewhere. To rectify such errors, we offer certain facilities to our students,” he said.
He further added, “The CBSE is an institution that works in the best interest of the students, and we operate with complete transparency.”
CBSE 12th Result 2026: How To Apply For Re-Evaluation?
Students can follow the given steps to submit their requests for the re-evaluation of answer sheets.
Step 1: First, apply for the scanned copies of the answer sheets for the concerned subject.
Step 2: Using the CBSE official marksheet, check the evaluated answer sheets carefully.
Step 3: Submit your observations or discrepancies to the Board through the official portal.
Step 4: A subject expert committee will review the request and communicate the final decision.
CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026: Important Dates
The re-evaluation requests will be accepted from today, May 19, 2026, while the applications will commence from May 22. Students can then access their rechecked answer sheets between May 26 and May 29. The Board has clarified that the marks may increase and decrease after the rechecking process.
“If correcting that error results in the student being entitled to higher marks, those additional marks will be duly awarded,” Bhardwaj said. “If the correction of an error results in a lower score, the student’s marks will be reduced accordingly.”
CBSE Class 12th: Fee Reduced For Answer Sheet Photocopies
The Board has significantly reduced the fee for obtaining photocopies of the answer sheets. Now students have to pay Rs 100, instead of Rs 700. Similarly, for verification, students have to pay Rs 100, rather than Rs 500. Meanwhile, the fee for re-checking each question is Rs. 25.
