Ghaziabad School Holiday: The schools in Ghaziabad will be closed tomorrow July 23, 2025 due to the rush caused by the Kanwar Yatra 2025, the schools have taken this decision to ensure the safety of the students as well as the Kanwar pilgrimage. All schools in the Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) district will remain closed on July 23 (Wednesday), 2025, due to the Kanwar Yatra.
In Ghaziabad, the Officials said they did this to prevent inconvenience for the school children and also to the Kanwariyas who have started coming in large groups from Haridwar and passing through Ghaziabad to their individual destinations, whereas the District Inspector Of Schools (DIOS) sent an advisory to all schools in which they have mentioned that schools will be closed on July 23.
"According to the DM sir's order, 23rd July, 2025 is announced as a local holiday on the occasion of Mahashivratri. All principals are requested to ensure the closure of schools on 23rd July," the message sent to schools said.
DM’s Take on Decision:
The schools will remain closed for physical classes only whereas online classes will be conducted, schools can conduct online classes for all classes, from Class 1 to 12. Schools in Noida as well as in Ghaziabad can start the physical classes from July 24, 2025. The District Magistrate (DM) Deepak Meena mentioned that all schools in the district shall remain closed from July 17 to July 23, 2025 to prevent inconveniences. An order to this effect was also used by the basic education department on Wednesday that is on July 23, 2025.
Route Diversion:
The Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory which states that the G.T. Road from Keshav Chowk Roundabout to Yudhistir Setu, ISBT (left carriageway) will remain closed till 8:00 am of July 23, 2025 due to Kanwar Yatra 2025. Delhi Police has mentioned alternate routes for this, people are advised to check the alternative routes before stepping out of their houses.
The Ghaziabad traffic police have already banned the entry of heavy vehicles on the three Kanwar routes from July 11, 2025 to prevent Kanwariyas while one carriageway (Meerut-Ghaziabad) of the Delhi-Meerut Road is reserved for Kanwariyas only from July 14, 2025, normal public are not allowed to use that route.
