Times World University Rankings 2027 OUT: The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027 are out, and the University of Oxford has retained its number one position for the 11th consecutive year. Second and third spots are occupied by MIT, Princeton, and Stanford. There are 2,297 universities on the list from 118 nations and territories.
For the first time, Asia has taken the lead over continental Europe, and there are now three universities from Asia in the top 15 rankings worldwide. Among Indian institutions, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, ranks highest at 254th position.
