JE Entertainment Desk: Prabhas' magnum opus 'Adipurush' accomplished an excellent opening day record at the Hindi box office where the film minted around Rs 33-35 crores net on its opening day. The film accounted for more than the predictions made ahead of its release and since the beginning of its bookings.
The spot bookings looked great in small national chains and were all booked Housefull specifically in regional and single smaller screens. The numbers were pouring in from South India, where the weekend collection will cross Rs 40 crores soon. However, the overall number in India is expected to cross around Rs 90 crores.
However, if these estimates are to be recorded, then the film will be the fourth highest opening day after 'Baahubali 2', 'RRR', 'KGF2' and 'Saaho.' Talking about overseeing, the film grossed $900K in North America, with previews around $3 million. The worldwide first-day collections of the film will be over Rs 100 crores.
The weekend projections in Hindi are well over Rs 100 crores net, whereas the film marks the third biggest opener in Hindi, behind 'Pathaan', 'KGF: Chapter 2', and 'Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva.
Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and is based on Valmiki's epic chronicle Ramayana with a modern touch. The film features Prabhas as Raghav aka Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Janaki Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, Devdutta Nage as Bajrang Hanuman, and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan.
