Barroz Twitter Review: Mohanlal, the iconic Mollywood actor, has made his directorial debut with Barroz 3D: Guardian of Treasure, a fantasy adventure film that hit theatres on December 25, 2024. The highly anticipated release has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, particularly on Twitter, where fans have shared their thoughts on the movie’s visuals, storyline, and overall impact.
While some fans are in awe of the film's stunning visual effects and immersive 3D experience, others feel that the storyline falls short of expectations. A recurring sentiment among viewers is that Barroz excels in its technical brilliance but struggles to deliver a compelling narrative.
One user wrote, "Well treated 3D visuals with good quality. Overall a good movie for kids & families, like they promoted. @Mohanlal- laletta you did better as a debut director."
Another fan shared their excitement after watching the movie, tweeting, "Watched #Barroz3D from Hyderabad. @Mohanlal sir, what a making! I can't believe it's your first directorial. One of the best 3D, VFX experiences in recent times from a South Indian movie. This should be a benchmark in Malayalam cinema."
#Barroz, its decent watch with stunning visual effects and a story that could have been better, same goes for the supporting cast , the girl who played the character of isa was good, and Lalettan as Barroz shines...

Dialogues, dubbing, casting and duration are the main drawbacks😑. Watchable fantasy drama 👍. Go with your family🥰#Barroz pic.twitter.com/SsOOzfNS0F
Saw Barroz first show in Bangalore. I know you don't care about feedbacks or reviews. But as a die hard fan, all i can say is that you should neither direct nor write any movie again. Let that job be done by others. Movie was disappointing in writing and acting. And lacked wit

The underwater sequences in the film have particularly stood out, with fans calling them a "masterclass in cinematic presentation." The 3D effects have been widely praised for their quality and ability to create an immersive viewing experience.
A user tweeted, "#Barroz3D - First 30 minutes. That underwater scene. The magic of #Real3D visuals 👌🏻❄️. Entirely different from normal 3D. Eagerly waiting for the rest."
Despite the technical excellence, some viewers noted that the movie’s storyline felt underwhelming. However, many fans appreciated Mohanlal’s performance and his effort as a debut director.
One tweet read, "#Barroz worked for me... it was a new experience. Fascinating is the word. Great job by @Mohanlal, @santoshsivan, and the entire team. It's not without flaws, but on the whole, I really enjoyed it. Voodoo was a big highlight!"
The film revolves around Barroz, the guardian of a 400-year-old treasure that can only be claimed by a true descendant of Vasco da Gama. Adapted from Jijo Punnoose’s novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, the screenplay was reworked by Mohanlal and Thazhathupurakkal Karunakara Panicker. The movie stars Mohanlal in the titular role, along with Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Daniel Caltagirone, Aadukalam Naren and Tuhin Menon in key roles.
Barroz 3D has divided opinions, with fans celebrating its visual grandeur while critiquing its narrative depth. As Mohanlal’s first venture as a director, the film has undoubtedly showcased his ambition and creativity, leaving audiences intrigued about what he might explore next in his filmmaking journey.
