Sriram Raghavan’s biographical drama Ikkis is set to release on Thursday, January 1 and carries special significance as the final on-screen appearance of veteran actor Dharmendra, while also marking the acting debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. Amid the release buzz, the producer has extended a 'Special Thanks' credit to Bobby Deol in the film.
For the special project, Bobby Deol has lent his voice to dub a few dialogues for the younger version of ML Khetarpal. This creative choice adds a layer of legacy to the film, with his voice lending greater depth to the character’s early years and making the transition feel more powerful and seamless.
MensXP quoted an official statement by the makers, "This creative decision brings an added sense of authenticity and legacy to Ikkis, seamlessly bridging generations both on and off screen. Bobby’s voice subtly enhances the portrayal of the character’s younger years, making the transition across timelines more intimate and impactfuL."
Recently, Bobby Deol paid a heartfelt tribute to Dharmendra at the special screening of Ikkis. In a gesture that resonated with everyone present, Bobby chose to wear one of Dharmendra’s original shirts. Bobby’s arrival quickly became the highlight of the evening as fans and media instantly recognised the emotional significance of his attire.
About Ikkis: Ikkis is an upcoming Hindi war biographical film based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film stars Agastya Nanda as Khetarpal and features Dharmendra in his final on-screen role, and centres on the Battle of Basantar. The film is scheduled for release on January 1, 2026.
