Kunchacko Boban’s mystery thriller has become a super hit, raking in approximately ₹26 crore globally during its extended opening weekend. Directed by Amal Neerad and featuring a talented cast that includes Jyothirmayi and Fahadh Faasil, the film's success can be largely credited to its strong performances and direction. Even though daily collections have seen a decline, Bougainvillea continues to hold its ground at the domestic box office.

According to Sacnilk, Bougainvillea has grossed ₹29 crores worldwide within its first week, with India Net collections reaching ₹13.61 crores. The film’s India Gross totals ₹15.2 crores, while Overseas collections stand at ₹13.8 crores. Here’s a breakdown of its daily earnings: on Day 1 (Thursday), it earned ₹3.3 crores; Day 2 (Friday) saw a decline to ₹2.25 crores (-31.82%); Day 3 (Saturday) increased to ₹2.85 crores (+26.67%); Day 4 (Sunday) brought in ₹3.05 crores (+7.02%); Day 5 (Monday) dropped significantly to ₹0.9 crores (-70.49%); Day 6 (Tuesday) fell to ₹0.7 crores (-22.22%); and Day 7 (Wednesday) is estimated at ₹0.60 crores.

On October 23, 2024, the overall Malayalam occupancy for Bougainvillea was 12.61%, with morning shows at 8.19%, afternoon shows at 12.32%, evening shows at 13.08%, and night shows at 16.86%.

Bougainvillea Budget

The Malayalam film, directed by Amal Neerad, was produced with an estimated budget of ₹30 crores. Neerad collaborated with Lajo Jose on the screenplay, which is inspired by Jose's 2019 novel, Ruthinte Lokam.

About Bougainvillea

The story revolves around a family caught up in a police investigation tied to the mysterious disappearance of tourists in Kerala. Kunchacko Boban stars as Dr. Royce Thomas, while Fahadh Faasil plays ACP David Koshy IPS, and Jyothirmayi features as Reethu Thomas. The supporting cast includes Sharaf U Dheen as Biju, Veena Nandakumar as Meera, Srinda as Rema, and Jinu Joseph.
