Imtiaz Ali, the director of the iconic Bollywood movie 'Jab We Met,' recently addressed the long-standing question of whether Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's breakup impacted the film's shoot. In an interview with Galatta India, Imtiaz revealed that the breakup, which occurred towards the end of the film's shoot, had no bearing on the production.

Shahid and Kareena had been in a relationship for several years before their breakup in 2006. Despite the personal turmoil, Imtiaz praised the actors for their professionalism, stating that there was no disruption in their work. He mentioned that there were only two days of shooting left after their breakup, and both Shahid and Kareena remained committed to their roles without any issues.

'Jab We Met,' released in 2007, is a beloved romantic comedy that continues to captivate audiences with its heartwarming story and memorable performances. The film follows the journey of two strangers, Geet Dhillon and Aditya Kashyap, who meet on a train journey to Delhi and fall in love. Apart from Shahid and Kareena, the movie also stars Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and Dara Singh in supporting roles.

In an interesting revelation, Imtiaz shared that his original choice for the lead roles in 'Jab We Met' were Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta. He had initially planned to make the film with Bobby Deol while filming 'Socha Na Tha' with Bobby's cousin, Abhay Deol. However, due to various reasons, the film with Bobby Deol did not materialize, and eventually, Shahid and Kareena were cast.

Despite rumours, Imtiaz confirmed that there are no plans for a sequel to 'Jab We Met' as he does not have a story for it yet. He emphasized that as filmmakers, they don't speculate like the stock market and that their decisions are based on what they feel is right for a particular project.

'Jab We Met' remains a classic in Bollywood's romantic genre, thanks to its engaging storyline, memorable dialogues and the sparkling chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
