The makers of Jailer 2 made Diwali extra special for Rajinikanth fans by unveiling exclusive behind-the-scenes clips of the highly anticipated action movie. Following Jailer's 2023 smashing box office success, the sequel has sparked even more excitement. Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Muthuvel Pandian, with a twist in the storyline. The film is slated to release on June 12, 2026, as previously revealed by the superstar.

Taking to X handle, the film's production house Sun Pictures wished everyone a Happy Diwali by giving a glimpse into Jailer 2 and what they have in store. The video featured high-octane action sequences and fun moments of crew and cast members on set, leaving fans already thrilled. Along with the post, the makers wrote, "Wishing everyone a super Deepavali Here's a exclusive BTS from #Jailer2 #HappyDeepavali."

About Jailer 2

Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is one of the most-awaited action films. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The sequel will star Rajinikanth in the lead role alongside SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa, who are returning in their roles. Shiva Rajkumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mithun Chakraborty will make special cameo appearances. Mithun Chakraborty will reportedly be seen in a full-fledged role in Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2.

Revealing Jailer 2's release date, Rajinikanth, during a recent press conference, said, "We are planning to release Jailer 2 on June 12, 2026. The shooting has been going very well."

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. He is all set to reunite with Kamal Haasan after almost 46 years. They last worked together in the film Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum in 1979.
