Aamir Khan's close friend and Lagaan co-star Amin Hajee has addressed the questions surrounding the absence of the actor's former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, at his wedding to Gauri Spratt. Aamir and Gauri got married in a private registered ceremony at the actor's Mumbai home on July 5. While many close friends and family members attended the celebrations, Amin clarified that the absence of Reena and Kiran should not be misunderstood.

Speaking to Rediff, Amin Hajee revealed that at the time of the marriage, Kiran Rao was in the UK. He said, “Kiran was in the UK at the time, while Azad had come from London for his wedding.”
Amin dismissed the talk of Reena's absence as well, stating that “I think some absences are natural. Sometimes giving people their own space is also a gesture of love and respect. You don’t want to make people feel uncomfortable on such an important occasion."
According to Amin, Aamir maintains a healthy friendship and respect with both his ex-wives, Kiran and Reena, equally. He added that all three of them work together through the Paani Foundation.

Wedding Was Held At Aamir Khan's Home Without Traditional Ceremonies
Lagaan actor Amin Hajee shared that Aamir and Gauri had opted not to have an elaborate wedding ceremony where they observed the rituals. He said, "The wedding was held at Aamir's home. We didn't follow any traditional wedding rituals. We simply spent time together, chatted, laughed, and enjoyed each other's company."
On the first day, there was an introduction of both families. Amin said the family of Gauri made everyone very comfortable, and it seemed like they knew each other for a long time.

Amin Praises Aamir's Personal Values
During the interview, Amin also spoke about Aamir's personal life and described him as an emotional person who has experienced heartbreak. He revealed that Aamir cried after seeing so much hate on his third marriage. He said people often judge relationships from the outside without knowing the full story.
According to him, Aamir has always treated his marriages with honesty and respect while ensuring that his former families and children remain an important part of his life.

Aamir Khan married Gauri Spratt in a registered ceremony after dating for around 18 months. Before Gauri, the actor was first married to Reena Dutta and later did a second marriage with filmmaker Kiran Rao. Despite both marriages ending, Aamir and Kiran continue to co-parent their son Azad, while he also shares a cordial relationship with Reena and their children, Junaid and Ira Khan.
