Ace Box Office Collection Day 1:Vijay Sethupathi and Rukmini Vasanth starrer romantic comedy movie released in theatres on May 23. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. Even if the film had a big star cast, Ace could not create an impact on its opening day. The film started off with poor numbers at the ticket windows. The film had a box office clash with big Hindi films like Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf and Suniel Shetty’s Kesari Veer. The weekend collection will decide the fate of the movie’s box office collection.

As per Sacnilk, Vijay Sethupathi’s Tamil movie Ace earned Rs 1 crore on the opening day. The film was released in Tamil and Telugu languages. It had an overall 16.51 per cent Tamil occupancy and 16.20 per cent Telugu occupancy. The film had 10.53 per cent Tamil occupancy in the morning shows, 16.97 per cent occupancy in the afternoon shows, 14.16 per cent in the evening shows and 24.39 per cent in the night shows. The movie had 15.95 per cent Telugu occupancy in the morning shows, 17.62 per cent occupancy in the afternoon shows, 15.72 per cent in the evening shows and 15.50 per cent in the night shows.

According to reports, the film was made on a budget of Rs 35 crore.
About Ace Movie
The plot revolves around a man who starts a new life in a foreign country but is dragged into a darker side. A heist he did in his life turned out to be a curse for him, which forces him to outsmart fate itself. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Rukmini Vasanth, B.S. Avinash, Yogi Babu, Kaarthick Jay, Denes Kumar, Muthu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Alvin Martin and Nagulan in pivotal roles. It has been written, directed and produced by P Aarumugakumar. The movie has a runtime of 154 minutes.
