Zubeen Garg Death InvestigationPolice officers who travelled to Singapore to investigate the death of Assam’s cultural icon and singer Zubeen Garg have stated that authorities in the island nation will soon share crucial statements and details from their ongoing probe. According to a report in NDTV, CID Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed that Singapore officials have already provided Zubeen Garg’s postmortem report through the Indian High Commission, describing it as "very important from the investigation point of view."

Gupta further added that on October 20, the team met with the Indian High Commissioner in Singapore to discuss the legal assistance required from the local police. He emphasised that timely cooperation from Singapore authorities is essential, as the investigation in India must be completed within 90 days.

Zubeen Garg Death: On September 19, 2025, Zubeen Garg, aged 52, passed away in Singapore while swimming in the sea off Saint John's Island without a life jacket. He was given CPR and rushed to Singapore General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the intensive care unit at around 2:30 PM IST.

Garg was cremated with full state honours on 23 September, including a 21-gun salute. On 30 September 2025, his ashes were brought to Jorhat for the traditional 13th-day Adyashraddha ceremony held on 1 October, attended by his family and thousands of fans.

The Assam government also announced plans to build a memorial in Jorhat, in addition to one in Guwahati, to honour his legacy. The ashes were kept at a public venue in Jorhat for several days, allowing fans and well-wishers to offer their final tributes.
