Janhvi Kapoor Reacts To Plastic Surgery Rumours, Says ‘My Mom Told Me Beauty Is Meant To Enhance…’

In a recent episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar appeared as guests, where they poured their hearts out. In the show, Kapoor can be seen opening up about the idea of cosmetic enhancements and the unrealistic beauty standards affecting young girls. The actress said that she does not want to perpetuate the idea of beauty perfection among young people. She added that she is a big believer of ‘you do you, do whatever makes you happy’.

Janhvi Kapoor said that she is open about her experiences so that she does not have to contribute to the idea of perfectionism. The actress said, “I don’t believe in gatekeeping. I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable with the onset of social media and seeing everyone being judged and look in a certain way. And I don’t want to perpetuate this idea of perfection. I’m a big believer of you do you, do whatever makes you happy. I would be very happy to be a completely open book about things.”

Kapoor also reacted to the online speculations around her appearance. The actress responded to the viral videos, claiming that she underwent ‘buffalo-plasty’. She said that whatever choices she made were carefully done and with maternal guidance. Janhvi Kapoor added, “I think I have been very intelligent, conservative and proper about what I have done. Of course I had the guidance of my mom and I’d like to share that. Also as a cautionary tale because if a young girl sees a video like this and decides mujhe bhi ye buffalo-plasty karna hai, and if something goes wrong, that would be the worst thing ever. I think transparency is important.”

The actress also shared her late mother, Sridevi’s, advice. She added, “She always told me that beauty is meant to enhance your confidence, not define your worth. If you ever decide to change something, make sure it’s for yourself, not because of fear or comparison.”
