The Raja Saab Update: The much-awaited movie, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas in the lead role, has been facing delays in its release. It seems like moviegoers will have to wait a little longer, as per the latest reports, makers are planning to release the film next year in January. The Raja Saab was initially slated to hit theatres on December 5. Amid release postponement buzz, the producer of the film recently revealed the release plans, aiming for a Sankranthi release, specifically January 9, 2026.
The Raja Saab Release Update
During a recent interview with Great Andhra, the film's producer TG Vishwa Prasad revealed that they are most likely to shift the film’s release date from December to Sankranthi 2026. He said, "See, I didn’t announce this publicly. But many people are of the view that it should be released for Sankranthi. Fans want that, as do Telugu business circles. There’s a strong proposal to release it on 9 January.”
The rumours of The Raja Saab delay were speculated by many to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar.
Reacting to this, Vishwa also revealed that Dhurandhar might also be postponed. “However, the Hindi business circle wants it to be released on 5 December because they don’t have anything strong releasing then, and Dhurandhar's release might be moved too. We will anyway do what’s right for us. The film will be ready by October, but we will take a call,” he stated.
He also revealed details about the film's runtime. In the same interview, Vishwa shared that director Maruthi has shot raw footage of 4 hours and 30 minutes and will decide a runtime of 2 hours 45 minutes or 3 hours 15 minutes.
Besides the release update, the producer of The Raja Saab also hinted at the film's sequel. He confirmed that the film will have a sequel, but it will have a different story set in the same universe.
Prior to Vishwa's statement, the birthday poster for Malavika Mohanan shared by the makers led fans to believe that the film is not releasing in 2025 as it showed no release date.
