Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan, released in theatres on July 23, sparked massive celebrations across Tamil Nadu. Thousands of fans gathered outside cinema halls from the early hours of the day. With music, dancing and cheering, the release day turned into a festival as packed theatres welcomed one of the year's biggest Tamil releases.

Since Jana Nayagan is widely seen as Vijay's last movie before he shifts his full focus to politics, the celebration was massive. 

Jana Nayagan Release Turns Festive

Several videos from theatres quickly went viral on social media. Some showed fans bursting crackers inside packed cinema halls during the screening. Many travelled from different parts of the state to watch the first-day-first-show.

 

 

The viral videos also captured drone light shows, music performances and the cutting of giant cakes outside theatres. The celebrations continued throughout the day at several cinema complexes. 

 

 

Thalapathy Vijay's fans wearing T-shirts with his face arrived carrying banners, posters and giant cut-outs. A handful had flown in from Malaysia to participate in the opening day experience, while others had travelled overnight from Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, and Salem.

 

 

Across Tamil Nadu, wall posters praising Vijay appeared in many places. Several fans and supporters also visited well-known temples to offer prayers for the film's success and wished the actor well for his next chapter.

 

 

The large-scale celebrations have received mixed reactions online. While many praised the excitement and love shown by Vijay's fans, others expressed safety concerns after videos of fireworks inside theatres surfaced.

With houseful shows and enthusiastic crowds, Jana Nayagan has opened as one of the biggest releases of the year. The celebrations once again reflected Thalapathy Vijay's huge fan base and the strong connection he shares with his audience.

According to reports, the Tamil movie Jana Nayagan has a budget of Rs 500 crore. Vijay co-stars with Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain in the H Vinoth-directed film.
