Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has always made sure to deliver the harsh realities of the world through his films. After successful ventures like The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, the director is set to come up with a new movie, The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter. After unveiling the teaser earlier this year, which featured veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, it created a buzz with its intense and thought-provoking narrative. Vivek recently shared a major update on the name of the movie.

Vivek Agnihotri addressed the public demand regarding the name of the movie. He shared a photo of himself reading a paper, but what caught his attention was a poster beside him. The read, "Who lives if Bengal dies? Along with the post, the director wrote, "So many of you have shared your thoughts on the name… The Delhi Files or The Bengal Files? Well, I have an update. But not just yet.. stay tuned.”

The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter is written and being helmed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and jointly produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. The film is presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions. The movie stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. The film's story will explore the Bengal tragedy and is touted to take deeper into a forgotten chapter of Indian history.

For this project, Agnihotri conducted extensive research, for which he travelled across the country to places like Kerala, Kolkata, and Delhi. He studied over 100 books, and more than 200 articles, and gathered information from over 7000 research pages. He along with his team also visited 20 states to ensure the film's historical accuracy.

The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter is expected to be released by later this year. This movie will also continue Agnihotri's signature style of storytelling by exploring significant historical and real events through a cinematic lens. Whether The Delhi Files or The Bengal Files, the upcoming directorial is highly anticipated.
