How did Sara Arjun get a break in Dhurandhar?

Sara Arjun secured her major break in Dhurandhar by beating over 1,200 other candidates in auditions, selected by casting director Mukesh Chhabra for her 'fresh', innocent look and acting potential. She was chosen to play Yalina, opposite Ranveer Singh, specifically for her lack of a previous acting background to fit the director's vision.

Director Aditya Dhar revealed over 1,300 auditions were held before selecting Sara, describing her as the 'best of all'. Mukesh Chhabra aimed for a 'fresh' face, avoiding established, well-known actresses to maintain a specific, innocent, and authentic feel for the character of Yalina, who marries Ranveer Singh's character, Hamza.

According to Chhabra, a specific scene where Sara had to say, "Are you an Indian agent?" was the turning point in her selection. Despite being 'fresh' to mainstream lead roles, Sara had extensive experience appearing in over 100 ads since she was 18 months old.
