Aadhaar App: In a major relief for Aadhaar users, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced a new feature in the Aadhaar app that will allow users to update their mobile numbers directly from their phones soon. This new app, which was launched on November 9, aims to save citizens from the hassle of waiting in long queues at Aadhaar centres. With this new update, users will be soon able to easily update their mobile numbers through a simple process involving OTP (One-Time Password) and face authentication.

What’s New in Aadhaar App?

The new update to the Aadhaar app is set to revolutionise the way users manage their Aadhaar details. Previously, updating a registered mobile number meant a visit to the Aadhaar centre and standing in long queues. However, with the new app feature, all that is required is a few easy steps on your smartphone.

How to Use New Aadhaar App? Check Steps

- Download the Aadhaar App: Available on both Android and iOS, the updated Aadhaar app can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store.

- Select Your Language: Once installed, open the app and choose your preferred language.

- Enter Your Aadhaar Number: You will need to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number to proceed.

- Mobile Number Update via OTP: The app will prompt you to send an OTP from your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. After entering the OTP, users will be redirected to complete face authentication.

- Set a Password: Once authentication is successful, set a 6-digit password to secure your profile.

- View and Share Aadhaar Details: You can now view your Aadhaar card, mask it for security, share it, and even apply biometric locking for added protection.

No More Waiting In Longs Queues

With the new mobile number update feature, citizens no longer have to spend time and energy at an Aadhaar centre. UIDAI shared on its official account on X (formerly Twitter) that the updated Aadhaar app will soon enable users to link a new mobile number to their Aadhaar. This update will be available for all users who have an Aadhaar card linked to a valid phone number.

Check Other Features Of Aadhaar App

In addition to the mobile number update feature, the Aadhaar app provides several other useful functionalities:

- Link Multiple Aadhaar Profiles: Users can add up to five Aadhaar profiles, including those of family members, provided they are linked to the same phone number.

- Biometric Security: The app includes biometric locking to ensure your Aadhaar data is securely protected. Users can also share verified credentials and scan QR codes linked to Aadhaar services.
