Days after securing defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, outgoing Delhi chief minister Atishi on Thursday stated that just three days after AAP lost control of the national capital, the city has been experiencing frequent power cuts. The senior AAP leader accused the BJP of attempting to turn Delhi into Uttar Pradesh, a state known for long power cuts.
During a press conference, Atishi said that over 40 power outages had been reported in various parts of the city within three days, with residents now resorting to buying inverters.

“In the last three days, I have received several complaints about power cuts in Delhi. Does this indicate the collapse of the power sector within just three days? It clearly shows that under Arvind Kejriwal’s government, the AAP administration was closely monitoring and supervising the electricity infrastructure on a day-to-day basis," Atishi was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
"And now, as soon as AAP's government has been removed, governance has failed, and the power sector has collapsed within just three days,” she added.
The BJP achieved a historic victory in the Delhi elections, ending a 27-year gap and reclaiming power in the national capital. The party secured an impressive two-thirds majority, winning 48 out of 70 seats. In contrast, AAP saw a dramatic decline, with its seat count dropping from 62 to just 22.
