AAP leader, Sanjay Singh, slammed the BJP, saying that its ‘Operation Lotus’ have became successful ahead of the Punjab Assembly Election, after AAP MP, Raghav Chadha, on Friday, announced that he is joining the BJP.
"The Bharatiya Janata Party, along with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, has initiated 'Operation Lotus' on a massive scale. This is a game of petty politics and a conspiracy to obstruct the good work being done by Bhagwant Mann’s government in Punjab," AAP leader Sanjay Singh said.

Chadha, citing constitutional provisions, declared that a two-thirds majority of AAP’s Rajya Sabha members have decided to merge with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
A total of 7 MPs are set to join the BJP, including Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Vikram Sahni, Swati Maliwal and Ashok Mittal.
Critising the move, Singh said, “Consider this: the party made Raghav Chadha an MLA and an MP. What didn't the party give him? The people of Punjab gave him so much love and sent him to the Rajya Sabha, yet he has now landed in the lap of the BJP. Through the love and blessings of the people, Sandeep Pathak was allowed to reach the Rajya Sabha and was entrusted with major responsibilities by the party."
"The people of Punjab will never forgive the MPs who deserted the Aam Aadmi Party," Singh said.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit accused the BJP of using the AAP MP as a ‘tool’ to break the party. "Our party has reports that Amit Shah has told Raghav Chadha that if he breaks seven MPs, then he will be made a Minister," AAP spokesperson Baltej Pannu alleged.
Pannu further alleged that the central agencies like ED, BJP want to terrorise and pressure their MPs, though they won’t succeed.
"Ever since AAP came to power, regular attempts have been made to break it, be it through attempts to 'buy' our MLAs, use threats, but they remained firm as they had joined the party under a mission,” Pannu said.
"Wherever polls are near, the BJP government uses agencies like ED, CBI to target political opponents", he alleged.
Pannu, calling the move ‘unforgivable by Punjab,’ claimed that the BJP wanted to fight the 2027 Punjab polls, “but the way the BJP is carrying out attacks on the Punjab government, on the AAP party and on Punjabis, the people will reject them."
Responding to the allegations made by AAP, BJP leader Vineet Joshi recalled them as baseless and said, "AAP is levelling such baseless allegations."
