Namo Bharat Rapid Rail: The Indian Railways  is working to introduce several semi-high speed and modern trains on multiple routes. As part of this modernisation, the railways has inducted Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat and Vande Metro on varius routes. In the latest development, the railways is likely to introduce two Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Vande Metro) in Agra in the coming months.

Agra Vande Metro: Routes

The two Vande Metro will run on two routes from Agra. While one will connect ther Taj city to Delhi, the other will connect it to Gwalior. For Agra to Delhi, an intercity train is already operational, and the Vande Bharat Metro will serve as an alternative. However, over time, the intercity train will be discontinued.

12-16 coaches, automatic doors

According to a railway official, the Rapid Rail will have 12 to 16 coaches. Each coach will have a seating capacity of 100 and a standing capacity of 300 for passengers. Each coach will have cushioned seats and automatic doors like the Vande Bharat Express. There will also be air-conditioned coaches.

The coaches will come up with facilities like LCD displays for information to passengers, automatic doors, mobile charging sockets, route display, bio vacuum toilets, and a fire detection system.

The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph. The average speed of the train will be 90 kmph. Each engine of the Vande Bharat Metro will have a shield system that will reduce the chances of train collisions.

Vande Metro in two months

The two Vande Bharat Metro trains are likely to be introduced in two months. The development comes as big news for passengers from Agra and the surrounding areas. Moreover, it comes as Agra is already gearing up to welcome four Vande Bharat Trains.

These include New Delhi-Indore, Aligarh-Mumbai, Agra-Jaipur, New Delhi-Secunderabad, New Delhi-Chennai. Currently, preparations are underway for their testing.
