NCP (SCP) women wing chief Rohini Khadse on Saturday wrote to President Droupadi Murmu, demanding that women should be allowed to ‘commit one murder without punishment’. She asserted this fulfilling this demand would help to ‘eradicate the oppressive and rapist mindset.’
According to PTI, Khadse, in the letter written on the occasion of International Women’s Day, pointed out the recent gangrape of a 12-year-old girl in Mumbai to highlight rising crimes against women and press for their demand.

"On behalf of all women, we are demanding permission to commit one murder without punishment. The aim is to target the state government's handling of law and order issues," she said in the letter.
Khadse also mentioned a survey report that claims India is the most unsafe country for women due to crimes like abduction and domestic violence.
“We want to kill the oppressive mentality, the rapist tendency, the inefficiency of law and order… We hope our demand will be granted after giving it serious thought,” she added.
Rohini Khadse is the daughter of senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse from Maharashtra.
Reacting over this, Shiv Sena minister Gulabrao Patil asked Khadse ‘whom she intends to murder.’
Meanwhile, MLC Manisha Kayande speculated that Rohini might be referring to the killing of certain tendencies in an individual and suggested that the sentiment might stem from recent incidents.
As many as five persons were killed in the sexual assault case of the 12-year-old girl at Jogeshwari.
The Government Railway Police found the girl alone at Dadar railway station in the early hours of February 27. Initially, the girl remained silent, prompting the GRP to launch an extensive search for her family, the official said.
The GRP then learnt that a case of kidnapping had been registered at the Jogeshwari police station. They handed her over to the local police.
After being coaxed by the cops, the girl told them that she was sexually assaulted by five persons, the official said. (With inputs from PTI)
